Overview

ChatDaddy is a WhatsApp Business Platform provider: businesses (“tenants”) use ChatDaddy to message their own customers over WhatsApp. That means two different people may want their data deleted, and the process is different for each:

  • A workspace admin or agent with a ChatDaddy login, deleting their own account or their whole workspace.
  • An end customer — someone who messaged a business’s WhatsApp number and has no ChatDaddy account — asking for the messages and phone number data tied to that conversation to be deleted.

If you run a ChatDaddy workspace

You can delete data yourself, without waiting on us:

  • Delete a single contact: Inbox → open the contact → Contact details → Delete contact. This removes their profile, custom fields, and message history from your workspace.
  • Export before deleting: Settings → Security → Export workspace data. Exports are ready within 7 days.
  • Delete your own user account: Settings → Account → Delete my account. This removes your login and personal profile; workspace data owned by the tenant is unaffected unless you are the sole owner.
  • Delete the entire workspace: Settings → Workspace → Delete workspace (owner only), or email privacy@chatdaddy.io from an address on the account. This deletes all contacts, messages, automations, and analytics tied to the workspace.

If a business messaged you on WhatsApp

If you received a message from a business’s WhatsApp number and that business happens to use ChatDaddy, ChatDaddy is a data processor acting on that business’s instructions — they are the controller of your data. The fastest path is always to ask the business directly (reply “STOP” or ask them to delete your data — WhatsApp opt-outs are recorded and honored automatically).

If you don’t know which business, or they’re unresponsive, email privacy@chatdaddy.io with the WhatsApp number that messaged you and, if known, the business name. We will identify the workspace, action deletion on your behalf under our Data Processing Addendum with that business, and confirm once done.

Disconnecting from Meta / WhatsApp

A workspace admin can revoke ChatDaddy’s access to a WhatsApp Business Account at any time from Meta’s own Business Settings (Business Settings → System Users, or WhatsApp Manager → your number → connected apps), independently of anything in ChatDaddy. Revoking access stops new messages from flowing to us immediately; it does not by itself delete data already stored — use the steps above for that.

What actually gets deleted

A deletion request removes: profile name and phone number, message content and attachments, custom contact fields and tags, and analytics events tied to that person. It does not remove records we’re legally required to keep — e.g. billing records for tax purposes — which are retained separately and are not used for any other purpose. Backups are purged on the same 30-day cycle described in the Privacy Policy.

Timeline

Self-service deletion (contact or account, from within the product) takes effect immediately. Requests made by email are confirmed within 3 business days and completed within 30 days, consistent with GDPR/CCPA timelines. You’ll receive a confirmation email once complete.

How to submit a request

Email privacy@chatdaddy.io with:

  • Whether you’re a workspace admin or an end customer who received a message
  • The workspace name (if known) or the WhatsApp number that messaged you
  • The phone number or email address to delete

You can also use the contact form — select “Privacy / data request” as the topic.
